Styling Delocking - Do I or Don't I?

Just picked up a spare bootlid as a bit of a project Already debadged it (needs spraying, so they needed to come off, but I may spray them body colour and stick em back on - undecided yet). It's a creased mark 1 bootlid, so I'm gonna fill the crease in anyway. The question is, do I delock it at the same time?

Yes go for it looks loads better and you can still open it with the inside release catch.

Aye I know that, it's just a case of whether I can get my fingers under the lid to lift it

Get a small but substantial spring so it pushes out a little further

The space should be enough, give it a try at some point, pop the boot from inside then try lifting it without using the handle. If its fine then do it if not dont.
