Are the rear badges on the mk1 held on with just glue or are they held with pins? I want to take mine off but only if there just glued on

I'd tell you to do a search, but I have just tried for something I'm posting about, I know its in the forum somewher cos I have read it before, but gone back and can't find it so.....

bonnet badge is on with pins, boot badges are on with pins(and they cut your fingers to shreds, they are seriously sharp), wing hp badges are on with tacky glue, make sure you don't make a mess of your paint!

I've help a partner taking off the rear and the hp badges, i did it to mine punto too...but as faster4_tec says and i quote

, when i take off mine i dont have much of a problem with the glue because i will paint over and take off the holes, in your case you have to do this, 1st you must have a heatgun, one of that little screw drivers a little sharp blade and a plier, use the heatgun to start melting that glue on the hp badges, use the screw driver and start lifting the badge nice and easy, when the badge takes off dont forget to turn off the heat gun hehehe and use some petrol or alchool to take that glue, do the same on the other badge, dont worry the glue will come off, just be careful. (y)

On the rear badges you dont neet the heatgun, just try to protect the sharp side of that little blade with something soft like a cloth or you can scratch your paintjob, with the help of the screwdriver start lifting the badge, when you can grab the badge with the plier just take it off carefully. Its normal you notice the paint under the badge is newer, because its not "burned" by the sun. the front fiat badge is the easier one, just use the plier and take off that two screws and he will come off. :slayer:

hope it helps :D
