I've just decatted my 150t, we took the original out and hollowed it out using fire, hammers and chissels. Surprisingly it's quite a tidy job, nothing left inside cat and no damage. It sounds very good, roars and bangs. I've had a custom longlife remap and they mapped it for a decat, so no EML which I was very happy about. My next question is, will I need to tweak the map? Before it was boosting 1.3 bar but now with no cat its only 1.2 bar?

High flow sports cats are too expensive, I've got a 11 month M.O.T so that's why I decided to do it. And there's a couple of dodgy testers near me who will pass it for an extra £20

I'm near Cwmbran too. Anyone you can recommend?

Sorry but this is either a wind up or you are a complete idiot.

Why would anyone want a dodgy MOT? An impartial expert looks over your car, checking everything that is safety critical or a legal requirement. No matter how well you look after your own car, you might miss something. It is great to have an expert declare it fit at that moment. Your own life and that of your passengers, and other road users around you depend on it. Your licence depends on the legal bits. The MOT tester should be respected.

It's the best mod I've done, completely free and took about an hour.
1. %10-15 better MPG
2. Sounds great
3.I can step the boost up another 0.2 bar
4.bangs and backfires when I shift gears
5. Better for the turbo because it has a lot more flow

Please move along and don't feed the troll.

Both my friends have diesels and have had them de cat, they passed the MOT recently without any problems, one is also highly tuned seat leon fr stage 2 remap, de cat, new exhaust system. No need to get a dodgy MOT.

Oh god another diesel comment.

Diesels have a "smog" test... not a emissions test. It's totally different.

A petrol will fail without a cat. Dodgy MOT testers are not good news - I have a friend who had his Punto put through a "mate" MOT tester... 2 weeks later his brake disc snapped in half. Why? The calliper only had one bolt in it. Fortunately no-one was hurt... but the MOT test is there for a reason.

Tomharrison I did the same thing. I didnt hollow it out, just cut it out and replaced with straight pipe. Its awsum. Yes it is ideal to take ur car back to the tuner now. Sure u will make even more power. Pls post dyno sheets if u have.
