Leave the car alone

or something not fiat...

Hahaha, the 2nd Q made me laugh!
To start, I don't see the point in getting a tjet or mjet, Don't get me wrong id love one, but the ones that remain will be in high milage, I haven't seen any tjet or mjet with lower mileage than what I got my 1.2 at (27k) and with the problems I'm going through with the car now buying a higher milage car would just be false economy IMO.

As for spending money on it, it's like what chricol said, it's a hobby, of course I don't really have the place or tools or even technical knowhow to do most things myself, so naturally I spend a bit extra on labour, but It's not like i'm using money that I would otherwise need to eat or spend on necessities.

It's satisfying adding little things to the car, even if it's just a 1.2, I like it, I'm making do with what I've got and even so, I haven't even spent that much, the decat in question would be a daft 20 quid at the most, I could find that under my bed if I tried :p
I remember that member on here, jamie or something. He had a 1.2 and got it to something like 86odd bhp, I never saw one comment criticising him for spending money on it.

If there's one thing that annoys me a little it's people on here telling others not to touch their car and 'get something better to start off with' not that any harm was meant.

If I came to this forum as a veteran mechanic with a members motors thread showing some complicated engine upgrades squeezing what little bhp the 1.2 has to offer I'm sure I would be getting great feedback and such.

Again... Not having ago! If you got the money then sure go for it. When I put that I didn't know your circumstances, I didn't know if you where a person who didn't know where the oil filter was or weather you where a top mechanic who has built a car from scratch.

It makes money sense to evaluate all angles. As I prev stated. Yes you can push a 1.2 to 86 something bhp and if you manage to do it great! Well done! But consider the cost. That's all people like me mean when they suggest saving and getting another car.

oh I knew you weren't having a go! I meant no disrespect at all :)
I just think most members on here should be more supportive instead of just a simple 'leave it and get something better'

Yeah that ^^
