De-cat pipe

I am looking at getting a de-cat pipe for my HLX however so far I have only seen them advertised for the HGT. Is anyone aware of one for the HLX ?
Also, I believe that of few of you have de-cat pipes so would be greatful if you could share you experiences with me regarding them, ie power gains, volume gains !, good/bad experiences with different companies, etc ?

i have a powerflow de-cat, cost me £40 it dosent really add volume but i think it makes the exhaust sound much nicer a bit more boom and pop rather than splutter and fart!!!

as for power gain i have no idea!

did you have to supply the flanges from the cat at that or what ?
I spoke to powerflow when I had my exhaust done and he quoted me about £45 for a pipe and £95 for a box, the pipe being a bit louder, however he said he would need the flanges from an old cat as well ?

Also, on another note. Does anyone know what diameter the pipe is at the airbox ?
I am thinking of adding an induction kit but mounting it away from the engine heat and then running a pipe from it and wondered what diameter pipe I would need.

If its a 1.8 hlx, the diameter of the throttle body is 82mm, the pipe goes smaller though into 76mm at the airbox. I have a 82mm pipercross viper in the wheel arch, with a pipe connecting it. it works well and gives excellent torque gains.

Chris - so is the pipe you have 76mm then or 82mm ?

i went to a place called stafford tyres which is near stoke on trent, i highly recomend them and even persuaded amit to travel up from london to use them!

if you want their number ill dig it out for you!

cost me £260 for the de-cat pipe and a cat back exhaust and the whole thing is gaurenteed for life ]
