DE BADGE

HI all how do you take the badges of you car do they just pull off and will it did to be sprayed after and does it leave holes???
also to body colour my handles and side strips do i have to buy them like that or can i just take them off and do it myself

as with my Uno... taking the badges off leaves 2 holes per badge.. dont know aboyt the punto tho... as for side strips an handles, you may have to prime them first But i saw some stuff in halfords which allows you to paint straight onto the plastic bumpers and so on. You put a coat of the halfords stuff on and then spray straight over.

I wouldny try just spraying the plastic as the paint will be bubly and probably need atleast 50 coats to get it nice...

Depends on the car; eg when i went to scrappie and went round "gathering" various car badges, but sadly the majority are bolted in, if they arnt bolted in though just use a hair dryer and they'll come straight off (or screwdriver, but wudnt recommend that to your own car )

p.s when i say bolted in, i mean plastic not screws

My Cinq's are just glued in, I just used boiling water and the hairdryer. Use an old credit card. The glue and stuff left is a right bugger but you just have to keep at it, also using T-Cut after will get rid of any non-faded parts.

As Sando says, a lot of modern cars now have the badges simply glued in place and there are no nasty holes. Makes it much easier for de/rebadging...

thanx every one will ask at the dealers if they are able to speak to me that is and see what type they are cause i dont need holes every where[:0]. and i said i wanted to colour the handles but dont know how to get them off as i said in my first post i am new to all this modz stuff so bear with me

Can someone explain the De-Badging philosophy?

I don't get it, some people want a badge/decal free car, others want every badge and sponsor decal in the commercial market on their car, what's the crack?

Sure, I have a bottom of the range car and if I take the badges off and soup it up a bit then hopefully no-one will know .

the crack as far as I can see is if its s**te debadge so no one knows if its good leave it on! I debadged my Bravo HGT and put 1.4 SX badges on for a laugh for a while! Suppose its what you are into?

I dont agree with the rest. The standard fiat decals are crap and if you own a bravo they will be quite willing to come off with a bit of hot soapy water and your mams old plastic fish slice. It will cost you 1.59 for a new one from poundstretchers, hahaha

I was driving to fast down the A130 today and a metro comes up behind me i let it go past it was doing about 120 mph that had no badges, looked like bog standard metro but couldn't have been made me look and there was a big fat bloke in the back
