A recent habit/fault has been for the car to display the warning of "Check day running lamps" every time I turn on the sidelights or headlights.

The thing is I always run with the day running lights off. Last week I went into the menu and turned them on. Both worked and yet when I turned on the side lights I still had the check message of the running lamps on the dash. I took each bulb out and checked the bulb and contacts.

I have turned off the running lights again in the menu and still the message persists.

Anyone else had this problem? Is it just Fiat electrics again?

PS - I also have the seatbelt symbol dimly lit when I turn off the ignition and remove the key.

Model
Punto Easy
Year
2012
Thanks!

Looks like a long job to track down the point of the problem.

Just go through it methodically, checking every light fitting and it's respective earth first, ticking them all off your list of suspects, then move on to the next.

I can't find any circuit diagrams for this model, but check the basics off your list first, .... earths .... everywhere that there are earths 🤪

I’ve found the attached diagram showing the earth points. For me to check the dash earths, is there a guide to removing the A pillar trims to hopefully get to the earth points.

My 2012 is suffering poor / unreliable contacts of the bulb holders

Damp spring days.. So I disabled it.. Not recurred

Dash glowing is not uncommon.. Mine is a different region of dash IIRC

BATTERY does Not get drained though
