I am being plagued with the airbag warning light remaining on. I have found the solution to remove the error code on the forum using the Fiatecuscan software. Can someone please advise how to download the software without my computer being hijacked by all sorts of other rubbish in the form of installers, zip file makers, games rubbish etc??
It looked like a simple process to remove the error code after watching the Youtube video, but downloading the software in the first place seems to be a much bigger problem.

Someone please help!!

Well if your downloading fiat Ecu scan - you probably aren't getting direct

It changed to Multi-ecu scan as some susuki ecu's were compatable :)

I just downloaded it direct

http://www.multiecuscan.net/

No signs of toolbars, etc etc, its a pretty good program - even on the basic free edition!

Hi, Ziggy,
Many thanks for your reply. I was obviously a bit behind the times! I've downloaded the programme and it looks good. All I need now is the correct cable to connect the diagnostic port to my laptop--any suggestions where to get it??

Thanks again

Steve

Many thanks for the replies.
I've got the cables and the multiecuscan software--no problems.
The user guide in the software has a link to the drivers needed and I have downloaded these. When I go to install the drivers (setup.exe) nothing appears to happen after my computer asks if it is alright to do the installation. Is there something else to do which I am missing or is this a case of the software finishing the installation automatically when it recognizes that there is something connected??
I feel as though I am just five minutes away from getting rid of the warning lights which have been on for weeks and I am falling at the last hurdle!

Any further advice would be much appreciated.

The final chapter!!
Finally found time to finish the job. The drivers installed automatically when I connected the Vag lead to my laptop, without the lead connected to the OBD port on the car.
I followed the steps given in the Fiat Howto video on YouTube and the job is done.

It took me less than five minutes and saved an expensive visit to the Fiat dealership; the nearest one to me is a 60 mile round trip.
Thanks to everyone for your advice.
If anyone has the same problem--go for it, it works!!

What was the fault code stored?

Ziggy

Sorry, didn't make a note of the code number, but it was the intermittent fault, the same as was shown in the YouTube video.

It wasn't the final chapter after all!!
After about one a half jouneys to work (about 60 miles) the airbag warning light came on again and stayed on. Seems I treated the symptoms instead of curing the problem.

Please, does have any ideas what I need to do next??

If your codes where the same as my first video then you'll need Video 2

I've had this problem now for the 4th time and I've even had my airbag switch changed and everything! Oh well it says it in the name -

F - Fix
I - It
A - Again
T - Tomorrow
