Hi All,

Am having trouble with the instruments all will be fine for a while but while driving the dash will go out and then come back all dials reset.

Battery has been charged and car starts no problem. It also keeps reseting the language to Italian and the Mileage into KM.

All other electrics are working lights, cd player and heaters etc.

It has not got the stage where when started the whole dash doesn't come on at all so driving blind really. Wonder anyone else has had a problem or know a fix?

For example last night I was out driving the lights to show indicators, main beam and lights were all working but no dials were on. The display screen was also on but there was no backing lights on at all. Also while driving the car goes into "checking" like you have just turned the ignition on. Will this be a new a cluster?

Start of this year i was having similar problems with my dashboard it was intermittent when it started - dials would freeze and dashboard lights would not come on then after an hour they would be back sadly this lasted a few days then it completely froze out - had it checked at my local garage nothing..

i heard of CLUSTER REPAIR UK from this site who were brilliant efficient and alot cheaper than fiat. Think i was quoted somewhere in the region of 150 for repair or 200 for a new one..Sent it off to them - repaired in a few days returned all in order with 2year warranty

Hope this helps

I had similar problem 2 year ago, In Belgrade there is one service that fix electrical problems with dashboard, ecu, similar car parts. The fix it in one day and charged 50 euros and gave warranty 6 months (but all dashboard they they fixed never come back to repair). The problem is in electrical board on specific part they all have problems ( I think some circuits on board break

I had this similar problem a year ago. Problem was an intermittent earth grounding connection (the one above the right front wheel to be precise). Dash would come on for couple of seconds, and could be dead for hours/days.

Garage told me it needed a new cluster, would cost 1000€. They said it was burnt out and all black at the back, but I checked the cluster myself, and no sign of burns. After fixing this grounding connection, it got better in time, within a week my dash was fully functional, and never had any problems with it anymore!
