Dashboard fail that is making me nuts

Hey everyone!

I just got my Fiat Stilo.. I'm very very happy with it except one thing..
My dashboard keeps failing and it is making me crazy and scared at the same time. I do not feel safe at all..
It worked fine as it should but during my drive today it suddenly fell out. I could not see what my speed was while I was driving. Everything was clear
(as if my car was off but it wasn't off because I still could drive. The little pointers or hands (don't know exactly how it is called) were still in the same position as when he went out)
Does anyone know what the problem is.. I'm still very young so I'm afraid if I go to the garage or the professional fiat garage they're going to do stuff that are not going to solve my problem and that it is going to cost me a fortune without solving the problem. Does anyone is familiar with this problem?

Please please help me I'm desperate..

hi,
if the dash "freezes" then I suspect you've got an electrical issue - possibly a bad Earth / ground,
is it just the dials/gauges ?,
or do the warning lights go strange also ?,

I would post in the Stilo section as somebody will have come across this problem before,
what year and model of Stilo, Petrol / Diesel fuel ?

Thanks for your reply.. It is working again.. My gasoline was empty but I started the car a 10000 times.. And suddenly the dashboard was working again.. Then I ofcourse refilled my gasoline.. VERY STRANGE!
