Hi Folks

Hopefully this is the correct place to ask...

I have a Fiat Panda Multijet 07 plate, over the last 6-7 months damp/wet starting has got gone from poor to very bad, and now after a nights rain, especially if the car is facing down hill, it will not start in the morning, it turns over but doesn't catch. The battery has been replaced and the local garage have replace the ECU relay too. This has helped none.

After poking around myself it looks like water is running off the windscreen down through the holes in the wipers shelf and dripping on to a small square black box/plug and wondered if this could be causing the trouble.

I have attached a pic, could anyone tell me what this is, or share some thoughts on where I should be looking.

Thanks for your time,

Tom

This is a common issue. Think more along the lines of where the water is going to than from. Check the air filter. It'll be wet and there may be a puddle in the bottom of the airbox. Change the filter and get the water out. Just by your arrow is a small hole in the scuttle holding some trim via a clip. This allows the water to drip onto then into the airbox. Apply silicone to the hole to make it watertight. Also remove the two big multiplugs by the battery and spray a small squirt of wd0 in there before replacing them.

Great, thanks for your response. I will give this a look when I get home tonight and reply and let you know how it turns out.

Thanks again.
