Hi Guys,

I have a Fiat Fiorino 20101.4 Petrol. When starting the van after leaving over night, the van starts straight away. Then when the accelerator peddle is pressed it cuts out. Once left ticking over for a few minutes it runs perfectly all day.

I've had two different mechanics carry out diagnostic testing and no faults come up. They then changed the spark plugs and temp sensor to no joy!

They now think it is the MAP sensor.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Daniel

Could be a sticky throttle body , try scanning it in eobd and looking in continuous test results if a code has been seen but for not long enough to log it its held in there

Thanks for the response. I've now changed the MAP sensor and had the throttle body cleaned out. Still no change. Any more ideas?

Thanks in advance

Can you post a pic of the throttle body area for me please

Guess this has no bearing on this thread, but hey-ho, I posted it a few days ago on the Punto Section.

My eldest daughter runs a Y reg 16v Punto Speedgear. Great little car, which is fantastic on fuel.
She works about 12 miles away, and passes a fuel pumps on her way to work, and so has used these pumps, which dispense Jet fuel. The rest of the time she fills up with Esso. Now what has happened, not just once but 4 or 5 times is when running on the Jet, the EML light comes on. Its been plugged in and checked each time, and on each occasion has shown spurious codes, which the tech' has discounted as false. Different code/fault on each showing.
Now when running on Esso, which it has now been doing for the past 3 months, no problems whatsoever...............
I will never use supermarket fuel, but am surprised the car seems to dislike Jet !!
Anyone else come across this type of thing..........
Cheers Qube O.

just to clarify "JET" is uk brand of 95 ron unleaded - not 110 + octane aviation fuel:D

there WILL be differences in the fuels constituents,
personally I only use supermarket.. and occasionally use BP branded fuel..have noticed ZERO difference..

apart form the BP is often £5 a month more expensive - on miles covered.

certainly worth changing "brands" / filling stations

when my O.H. was in the business , a local place Branded "ESSO" was always getting busted in tests for selling non-esso,
but because it was a prime site EXXON UK wouldn't pull them up.
