Hey guys,

ok first time in this section so just wana say hey to all of you.

now i love the bravo and always av but i hate!!! the interior. is it possible to custom make a dash for it? has anyone done it before. im looking for a luxury and sport look at the same time?

any pics would be great!

p.s the reason for me asking this is because im selling my punto to buy either a stilo or alfa 156 and was thinkin about the bravo!

Thanks guys

I've seen a few pics on here of a couple of cars that have had their dash fabricated. They tend to cover the gap over the passenger side if it doesn't have an airbag, but seen people put tv's and such in there (As well as the centre air vents). I'm not sure on the process myself but I'm sure someone will have a link to hand with the pics.

Other things which I've seen are the Lockwood dials, but you can also get dial rings to make the speedo look a bit better too.

Just an example of what can be done with the dash

the best thing to do is get a mk2 model with a decent spec- HLX or HGT. this will give you a much better interior to start off with. if you want cheap insurance get the 1.6HLX, you get a great spec and pretty good performance without high insurance or fuel costs.

then you can add the marea centre console with arm rest, replace the headunit, and add a few bits of bling like a gear knob and all of a sudden you've got a nice interior. add a passenger side airbag to give the dash more bulk, and you'll be impressed with the end result. if you still like to paint your interior like on your punto you can easily remove and spray the centre console, but promise me you'll use a sensible colour this time. :)

stilo interior is better, but the rest of the car isnt, so imo the bravo is the better car. the 156 interior is hard to beat, even the mk1 is better than many 2008 cars.

This dash is from a punto mk2.

But i thought i would show you pics so you can realise how much work its going to be:

Took alot of work to get the circles back for the air vents as had to rase the speakers area's up so they would be flat.

Good point, forgot about the HLX/HGT's having a slightly different look.

My mate in Southgate has a rather nice 156 in black with red seats, have been considering one ever since, although can't comment on how it drives, engine etc. Stilo is quite a heavy car, and as much as I'd own one again, I think the electrical gremlins it has is enough for me to say to get a Bravo instead of a Stilo.

That dash looks a lot of effort, but looks a lot better than it was!

As above, the dash and interior on the Stilo is probably a nicer place to be than the Bravo. But the Bravo is a nicer, more reliable car than the Stilo. And personally I'd take the Bravo exterior styling over the Stilo anyday. Don't get me wrong the Stilo is a lot of car for the money, particularly in Abarth 3 door form. But for a hell of a lot less the HGT/HLX Bravo, is better in most departments, bar the interior.

I've seen a few HGT Bravo's with the leather option, and they look absolutely superb inside.

In terms of modifying an original dash, unless you just bolting on items, (which normally looks worse than standard). Actually taking the dash out and adding fibre-glass, resin, and paint is a hell of a lot of work.

As said above, using parts from the Marea parts bin will add a distinctive change to interior for the better. You could also look at Metal Monkey dials, they may do a Bravo dial modification.

:)

i know this is a very old thread but did you have any problems with electrics after putting dash back on. iv just put mine back in today after spraying it and some electrics work and some dont. and some dont work unless i disconnect something then reconnect it, then doesnt work if i turn ignition. and to point out car wont even start.
