Off Topic Current Panda Value?

Starting to run out if time to move them, but I don't really want to see them go for scrap.

I might see if I can get the 750 running, and get through an MoT.

My van returns just over 30mpg, so is costing me a fair bit to run at 500 miles a week!
But is it actually cheaper to have a second car? I'd still need the van for at least half the miles, so that gives me 250 miles a week in a second car, Pandas seem to have poor MPG, but are in the lower tax bracket, my other car (Vauxhall Cavalier) is cheaper to run, 50mpg diesel, but in the higher tax bracket.

...I think I need a calculator...

Surely you'd get 50mpg easily from a 750 if you don't thrash it? If I can get mid 40's from a 903 or 999 then they are capable of MUCH more if you're sensible!! ;)

What size van do you need? A 750 Panda makes a very effective van with the rear seats out - I know someone who ran a small gardening business using one - mowers etc all flew into the back & I reckon it's as a good as an Escort van sized vehicle for that.

I've got a MWB Hightop Vauxhall Movano. I run a horticultural & agricultural services business. A lot of my work is gardening, but I needed a big van for some regular large work. Before the Cavalier failed its MoT I was using as a van, but due to the shape I think it carries little more than a Panda would!

I would be using the car for smaller jobs, and general running around.

But once I've added tax and insurance for a second car, will it work out any cheaper than running the van all the time?

I would suggest swapping my Alfa 145 for your two Pandas (by way of inception I just have) but I don't have any way of transporting them and there's a Panda 4x4 on my horizon already.

Hmmmm.....

....that film sucked.

Because it's square you can fit a lot in a Panda, but not as much as in the Movano - you'd need a roof rack on the Panda for that! :D

Because the spare wheel is up front and the loading bay is flat once the rear seats are out of the way you have same load space as a Europallet...

:)

Does the 4x4 have a sunroof?

Take the back seat out and weld a panel in the rear quarter window frames.

I wouldn't mind a Panda 4x4 with a sunroof. I'd mount a gun turret up there in case I ever have to drive through Peterborough.

The 903cc 'Dance' had the best rear seats... it was 2 metal tubes and a sling. But you could take the tubes out and fit the bottom one back in place, so it stopped toolboxes (etc) hitting the back of the seats...

Now I need to get pics of the flooring chipboard, bricks, fence posts and large ikea flat pack double bed I had in my seicento. Sometimes with the family in it at the same time

I've had a ponder over my 4x4, and have now listed it in the classified.

Its at the price it is based on the parts value.

Me and the wife stripped a buggered 750 we bought as a doner in about an hour, so if I can't get a fair price I'll be breaking it!

Such a pity I don't have loads of spare time and a garage!

The 750 doesn't ...but I think the buggered one I bought as a donor and stripped did... I'll have a look through the parts if I get a min.

If I end up selling/breaking the last 2 Pandas, and the Marbella, I'll be selling ALL my spares (about one and a half cars, in boxes), so there will be some bargins!

Not at all. A FIRE engine and gearbox weighs about the same as three fit or two fat passengers. So long as their strapped properly (or held down with a bit of Duct Tape) you'll be fine. ;)

Edited to add the engine and gearbox strapped or taped down. Passengers obviously should be wearing seatbelts.
