Curious - MP3 Player as Multichanger?

I saw someone plugged an Apple i-pod into their HU the other night, I did ask how he did it but since forgot..

He basically said though it now acts as a multichanger, and I had a go too, it was fab.

How do I go about connecting one up?

I got a input for my blauplunk and means i can plug anything in, only cost £10 from bluespotaudio, and works a treat, you can also get a thing to control the ip from the headunit for about £50, Halfords had some sony and JVC ones that have this for free, and the HU were only £120-150!

Buy a 3.5mm to RCA adaptor cable (about £3 on ebay) and run it from the headphone socket on line out setting. Cheapest way and works for me.
