hi all.
was doing spme diggin, ref my recently bent nearside wishbone.
i have never in all my years of motoring , bent a wishbone.
this was caused by very light kerbing.
now what i have found is that my bones are made from pressed steel,
but cast steel units are specified as an option.
now obviously cast steel units are way stronger , so why are pressed steel ones fitted.
also it is just the 4x4 and cross that these options are offered .
anyone has any experiance of these.
regards.

As far as I am aware and certainly according to Shop4Parts, all mk4 Cross (and all other mk4’s) lower arms are pressed steel, including the FCA original parts. My understanding is that the cast parts were for the mk3 Panda and are different.
My 4x4 has had a few replaced now (by me) due to worn ball joints. The OEM and pattern parts are all pressed steel for this version based on that experience.
