Got a 40GB Creative Zen Touch mp3 player for crimbo and want to hook it up to my Kenwood head unit - anyone got any idea if I can do this? If so, how??!!

I know it is fairly straightforward to attach an Ipod but I am hopeful other Mp3 players work in the same way.

Ideally I would want to control the player using the headunit controls whilst driving!!

not gonna happen!

http://www.justkenwood.co.uk/stock01/auxin.asp <-- pricey for what it is, but you need summit like that. unless you are handy with a soldering iron then:

If you have a Kenwood headunit with changer control, but not this aux function as mentioned above, there is another way.

If you happen to have a kenwood changer cable lying around you could:

Connect pins 10 and 11 together
Connect pins 4 and 12 together

7 is now audio ground
5 and 9 are left and right audio

attach some phonos and you are away!

Good luck! ( i take no responsibility for this tho.)

hey mate, i just got a zen micro for crimbo, so much tastier than an ipod!

you need to get a line in on your hu or buy a new one, like the other guys said im afraid (theres some not too expensive ones about if moneys tight, mine was about 70-80)

Cheers for all the info.

Ive got a Kenwood W7031 - cost £250 so im hoping its fairly high end - havent seen the back of it as it was professionally installed but Im sure its got a Kenwood changer control input. I think the best bet would be the cnager contol cable that goes into a 3.5mm jack.

Will let you know how I get on!
