1. Why dont diesel engines benefit from induction kits?

2. What's ported and polished head, theory?

3. What's skimmed (and i dont mean milk)

4. And what's the performance chip (resistor) actually do, any gains?

Cheers

Because the are already turbo-charged, so already have forced-induction?

I am a complete dunce when it comes to engines, but that's how I understand it. Would be interesting to be told I'm wrong by someone that actually knows.

1) They can, depends how good the standard system is.
2) Ported and Polished refers to the removal of obstruction to gasflow in the inlet and exhaust cycle to enable free flowing gas, improvement in efficiency = more power.
3) Skimming a head or block is done to either solely repair a warped head, or to raise compression ratio on a tuned engine, on some heads consideration has to be made on piston type to avoid valve contact. This isnt best done in isolation but as part of a tuning package, i.e. wilder cam, better breathing, improved exhaust, advanced timing, improved knock sensoring... this is a big world, one for the experts really and I am NOT one! :p
4) As previously stated, chip (resistor) is a waste of money.
