connect device directly into the head unit

I have a Fiat Bravo with the standard factory cassette. I wish to connect my mp3 player directly into the standard car stereo but directly into a connection at the rear of the unit if such a thing is possible. I could use a cassette adaptor or a FM transmitter but if there is a way of connecting directly into the head unit unit via an adaptor then that I guess would be a better connection.
Does anyone know if this is possible?

Thanks

Has anyone done the same thing with a portable CD player using the standard phono connection?

Thanks

Adapter

The orginiale Bravo Cassette player is made by Grundig. Therefor you can fit the Grundig MCD36 and up cd-changer serie. If your radio has an changer-controll you can fit an adapter, so you can connect your mp3player to the cd-changer input. I think this adapter is called an MCD-adapter, cant remeber. Contact Grundig. I got an Allix Grundig CD-player where I attacked my MP3-player to the changer-input.

Try this, maybe it will work

There are no connections on the back of the standard head unit. What you want is a little thing that the aerial plugs into, into this you can plug in any auxerially input. You can then tune the radio into this aux input on your tuner.

Re: Re: connect device directly into the head unit

this isnt really true..

the pins are there if you have a model that allows a cd changer to be added.
i have one, i think you need to get yourself a headphone cable and a spare cd changer plug to fit into the stereo.
then L+ goes into pin 19 and R+ goes into pin 20
the gnd goes into pin 18 I THINK... im gonna try this myself soon. basicly copy the pins that are being used by the lead already in the car for future cd changer use!
