There's a lot of confusion about TomTom B&M for Fiat 500's. As far as I understand, one can buy the B&M TT, but the latest version of B&M software (5.4) doesn't pair the devices yet in a 500. Of course this is very annoying and a very bad attitude of Fiat, who just want to sell their malfunctioning Nav and Map software, but why make it work on other Fiat cars?
Another unclear thing is the Dash Dock. I bought my 500C without a dash dock, but now my Fiat dealer says, it is impossible to install the dash dock afterwards. It needs a lot of re-cabling and software implementation, he says. This seems silly to me, as far as I now it's just a hole with special plug in the dashboard that holds the TomTom holder and only has a (usb?) connector that supplies 5V power for the TT. No need for other connections, since TT has it's own GPS antenna and communication is through Bluetooth.
Question is now: can I convince my dealer that he can order and mount the dash dock plug separate or can I order one myself (so what's the part number in that case??).
Important too now is, that the forum bombs Fiat with emails so they will allow TT B&M to function in a Fiat 500!!! I hate it, when firms limit possibilities just for their own profit!
