Hi Guys,

I'm after some software to rip my old records (you know those big round black things!) into MP3's. Not into converting them to .wav's then MP3 as they seem to lose quality that way. I'm also not fussed about losing the pops and crackles I just want to be able to listen to them in the car!

Anyone know of anything good or worth a try?

Also I'm after some software to mix MP3's together. Sort of like 2 decks and a mixer but for MP3's! Anyone know of anything good for this too?

My PC is old and runs win 98 but is still quite quick with plenty of memory so please bear this in mind with any suggestions.

Cheers folks,

Horney

Some of them are old (50’s 60’s) and some of them are new (2006). Loads of them are limited editions and only available on the black stuff etc etc and I very rarely play them for fear of damaging them as they are quite valuable. Quite a few of these tracks are hard to find to download and the quality is often less than desirable.

Also the pops and clicks are part of the charm and I want to capture that on the MP3 recordings.

Does that make sense?

Cheers,

Nick
