anyone fitted 13cm components in the front of a cinq before - whereabouts would they go, and how easy are they to make fit?
cheers!

D4NS said:This doesnt relate in anyway to the posts if you read it m8. And i would never recommend those cheapy adpters, they just vibrate and sound crap!![]()
D4NS said:If i remember correctly they are only screwed into the original holes by 4 screws, which allows huge movements for the plastic to bend on the curved edges. Also adapters will not work in the cinq as the original hole has to be large enough for the 13cm magnet, which is not present in the cinq. This is why the holes will have to be cut and this is why MDF adapters will have to be made, so that you can attach the speakers securely to the dash.![]()
Where abouts do you have the tweeters in comparison with 'drivers head' as i dont know the layout of the Uno
luke1985 said:i see what you're saying... just sometimes MDF isnt always the answer as its heavy, especially if its with speakers with a large magnet. The mounts on the MDF will pull out after enough vibration and time if mounted funny. I dont know exactly how you indend to mount it so what im saying may not be true in your case, but if i'd done it that way to mine, id be in a bigger mess than i would have done had i stuck with original parts.
i've got infinity reference components so the tweeters are angled in towards the center of the cockpit, front 2 small cutaway areas (best was i can describe them). basically at the base of each A piller on the inside. Then ive got DSO on my HU, and have set up the positioning ,equalizer and crossovers perfectly so the sound is optimum for me. Dont care to much for the passengers - my car my stereo![]()
D4NS said:Mountings are very unlikely to come out if you secure them correctly (unless you use nails or thin thread 2cm screws!) This is what the adapters use if irc. They do hold the speaker secure to the the adapter but not to the dash...
The infinitys were a good buy. Ive used their 6x9's for ages and always had high quality sound from them. My set up is focused on R&B so Components were not really neccessary. Instead ive got two pairs of 6x9's which give amazing quality when combined with me 3 amps and sub. Fronts on mine are also just set up for voices so you get a surround effect.![]()
Anyway sorry for overtakin the thread arc.![]()
D4NS said:The only thing i have running off of my hu are the 10's. They arent brilliant turned up, this is why the bass is canceled out and balance set to 2 to the rear. Also my 6x9's set into my rear arm rests are run off of a cheap rally520 which is crap when turned up, but is on the lowest setting and is just there to give a high quality all round feeling when on lower volumes. Then when i turn it up the high quality volume from the other speakers cancel out the distortion from these.I need to get round to getting a new amp for my sub also as it is slightly underpowered. One last q b4 i stopped mucking up this thread. Have you bothered packing ur sub with 'cotton wool' ?
