General Compatible OBD2 scanner for 2019 Tipo

Hi all,

Am new here and new to car DIY so please forgive ignorance...

I am looking for a budget friendly (not an expensive professional use) OBD2 scanner that will read full engine fault codes (and ABS/SRS faults preferably) that is compatible with a 2019 Fiat Tipo 1.6L Multijet diesel. Bluetooth/phone connectivity preferable but open to options.

Am wanting to keep budget friendly (e.g. £50) if possible as already have a scanner that works perfectly on other vehicles but annoyingly not FIAT.

I have contacted several suppliers on Amazon that sell highly reviewed budget scanners all to the response their scanners do not work on FIAT vehicles, only their expensive professional scanners.

I find this hard to believe as see thousands of fiats on UK roads so would be interested to know why these budget scanners seem to be able to scan every car except FIAT...

Hi there,

I bought a cheap £20 OBDII scanner for my 2020 Fiat Tipo Sport and works fine.

I use an app (Car Scanner) on my phone which I can view, and clear, fault codes via WiFi. I ended up buying the pro version for the app as the feature are useful at times.

You can find faults with the ABS Control Unit, but unsure if you can view/find SRS faults but might be worth having a look or contacting the developer if it’s something that is crucially needed.

If you want professional performance at a price around your buget look at Multiecuscan www.multiecuscan.net and a "modified for Fiat" ELM 327 USB interface. You have have to use a Windows laptop but it is excellent software. It does much more than just read codes.
