Hi, i have this strange issue. Its very hard to start when cold eaven in summertime. But runs very well when hot engine, above 50 celcius. Its coming white smoke to. Its like its chooking. (The turbo is running smoth and the bearings are fine when i checked it). I cant move the coldstart valve buy hand and when i put currency directly on it from the batteri, it doesnt move. Have it got stucked? How does those work, ventile? is it just in or out or does it have a span of how much it opens and if so, what steer this in those cars? (Have issue with the glow relay box to. The circuit board seems fine when i open it, at least according to my eyes).

If some one got a workshop manual from Fiat i would (almost) kill for it!!! At least pay for it :)

Thanks in advance!

Hi

There is an explanation of the "Flame Start" device here: https://motor-roam.co.uk/ducato-cold-start-flame-start-system-explained

To put is simply, there is a small diesel fuel supply and a single glowplug which heats up and ignites the fuel to provide heated air to the inlet manifold when the ambient temperature is low. In addition, the injection timing is advanced by a lever from a wax type thermostat which is heated by a 12 volt supply.

This previous post from this forum also discusses flame start, including the Fuses which supply the electrical parts: https://www.fiatforum.com/threads/glow-plug-relay-location.489092/#post-4609240
