Hi All.
I've a 2011 Bravo 1.6eco dynamic. I got it in November and through the winter I've had freezing cold feet due to an icy draught in the footwell. It appears to come from the lefty and side near the heat vent. The heater works fine. I've had it back twice to my useless local dealer who on the second visit said they'd put a draught excluder behind the panel. On my way home after discovering no heat at all in the footwell that they'd stuffed the heater vent with bubble wrap. I wonder if any owners have a similar problem? The weather is Warner now but she will have to go before winter if no improvement.
Also the car judders under load at exactly 1,400 rpm; any ideas?

draught excluder <=> bubble wrap :bang: , good old Fiat dealers

Your problem is probably one or more of the heating unit flap motor, to be more clear.. not the motor itself but the linkage to the flap.. they are a common fault in the bravos climate control system (i presume you have the auto climate control)

I have my own experiences with fiat dealers that cannot fix anything (btw for Fiat dealers fix=replace) if it doesn't throw a error code. rant over!

Does the car judder when you accelerate from 1400 revs as this is probably quite normal for any diesel as the revs are a little low. Try dropping down a gear, it can be more fuel efficient to drive in the next gear down between 1700-2000 revs.

For example in my 2.0 Multijet, cruising at 30mph in 3rd gear is just right, in 4th the car would shudder under power. At 40mph 4th gear is perfect, if I was in 5th and put power down it would probably shudder and take a while to pick up pace. Quite normal.

As for the draught, as your car will still be under warranty tell them if they won't fix it correctly you will contact Fiat UK Director's office. This has always worked for me. Got their details if you want them. An email to the MD of Fiat UK usually sorts most things, especially if your car is still under warranty.

I have the 1.4 (90)petrol bravo with no climate control and have the same problem . I have removed the small vent cover on the tunnel as it points upwards (rather than down on your feet). It has made a small difference . I have not been able to solve this issue in 4 winters.
I had a similar issue with the stilo.
If you solve it please post the result !

Thanks Aurick 86. There is plenty of heat coming from the footwell vent. The cold draught comes from the gap between the carpet ant trim covering the transmission tunnel.
I've tried e-mailing FIAT, they just say take it back to the dealer.
As I'm now in the last year of warranty ( dealer warranty) they want to charge me for any investigation work. I've own Fiats and Alfas all my driving life. While they still provide thus level of service they will never grow market share in this country!
And thanks also for the advice on juddering, I daren't even approach the dealer on that one!!

I will try that. Hopefully an easy fix!!
Re juddering. The car pull well from 1,200 revs it's only when it gets to exactly 1,400 revs it judders, past there it's ok!
Thanks all for your help.

Have you had anyone look at it? I'm no expert but would expect it to be normal. My MiTo 1.6 would shudder a little at low revs when accelerating when the tuning box was plugged in. I would say its the car telling you to down gear.

I thought this wasnt right when i bought my first ever Fiat last week and i can confirm that
my feet where a little icy on the way home from York.
Surely this is more than the cabin filter not been fitted proper?
Anyone got any other info on this ?

Same here heater is blowing on windscreen when I have the gauge pointing to feet it is warm on windscreen but feet or freezing I have 08.1.6 eco any help would be appreciated

Oh and one other annoying glitch when moving off slowly with full lock a little creaking starts, otherwise when driving it seems ok any clues?
