I have a problem with my Sat Nav and Phone on the CN+ system in my 2002 Stilo Abarth, I hope some one can help.

The sat nav will not display a map and if you use the phone the caller can hear you loud and clear but you cannot hear the caller.

It looks like the unit is not getting sat signals. When you check to see how many sat's are present non are displayed. The Radio works great. I wondered if the Sat Nav and phone use a different Ariel than the radio?

Does anyone where the sat nav Ariel is located? and how to check? Would be grateful for all advice.

Have a search on here first and look for the hidden CN setup menus, its in the stilo guide section I belive.

When you are in there go to the pages which has GSM HW and GPS HW and see if there are any responses in the boxes on the left hand side. If there isnt numbers or anything legible as responses then it might be the GSM/GPS module connection cable has worked loose inside the radio.

Further to my last. Now I have REAL problems.

I got the hidden menus and found that the GPS antena was highlighted red and fault.

So being brilliant I thought I would reload the software CD that came with the car By Mag. It say with the engine runniing insert CD and it will take 10min to reload. Dis this, after 12min the CN+ unit swiched it self off. Now it is dead with the CD still in. I have tried everything. Even removed the unit disconected it from power and reconnected.
No luck. Has anyone any ideas? before I binn it.

By the way does anyone know where the GPS ariel is located?

The code is available from Fiat or Magneti Marelli depending on whether it's a new or reconditioned unit. I think new units have serial numbers begining 2G and reconditioned units 16ZR.

Any Fiat dealer can obtain the code from Italy but most don't realise they can, or don't want to get it. There was a Service Bulletin about it issued to dealers some years ago.

If you find a dealer willing to get it for you, they will need a high definition photograph of the paper label on top of the unit showing the serial number and bar code.

Dave.
