Hey,
I have a W plate, Fiat Marea Weekend SX, 1.6 Petrol, and the clutch has gone. Anyone know if this is an easy, do it yourself job, ot is it a tricky one that a garage will need to handle?

Would really appreciate some assistance in providing some information, if anyone can help.

Thanx to all.

:)

Nope. Both drive shafts, remove gearbox, remove clutch, replace clutch, replace gearbox, re-fit drive shafts. If you have "dry"/grease type inner drive shafts, they're pretty easy to split.

It's a sod basically 'cos it's difficult to line up the (heavy!) gearbox without a 2 post lift and a hydraulic trolley jack.

If you decide to DIY, get a big helper, put aside a weekend. If not, get a few quotes -- back street (rather than big name) clutch jockeys are likely to be much cheaper than ordinary garages.
