Technical Clutch troubles

Just got in from driving the cinq to a friends as i put my foot on the clutch and the car stalled ?? fired up again and the clutch felt "crunchie" (not the chocolate bar! ) and was really weird pulling off . Im not sure what has happened ? thrust bearing ? clutch on way out ? any ideas would help

well i got a day off tomorrow so will have a look
it has felt abit rough for a while, not expensive for a new clutch so may just change it ?
