Technical clutch trouble please help if u can

hi i have a 1.6l fiat tipo and the clutch pedal is not working at all. i think it could b the clutch cable but i cannot fint out how to change it or even locate it, please can somone help.

or is it hydrolic cos where haynes says the clutch cable should b there is a tube. please somone help.

check down under the battery. Ontop the gearbox is the clutch slave cylinder if it's hydraulic. These usually fail first in the system. Also check the brake reservoir, if it's hydraulic it will have 3 pipes out the bottom of it.

thank u so much, i think it is hydrolic, cos the clutch cylinder is now leaking. i'll go get some more fluid in a bit. thank u again.

Leaking at engine bay end or drivers footwell?

Sounds like you need to replace the slave cylinder.

yeah ur right. damn manual said it was a cable one. i'll have 2 go get a new cylinder now.

There are two types. One uses 2 bolts to hold the cylinder, the other uses a circlip. Usually Mk1 are circlip and Mk2 bolts.

I'll let you guess which is easier to remove and install

i have bolts on mine i think. im getting a new one from camberlys auto factors 2moz for £30. should b drivin again soon.
