Hi all,
Recently bought a 500X popstar 1.4 petrol.
Twice now when the weather has been very hot my wife has left work and within a couple of miles the engine management light has come on. She doesn't use start stop function but the dash is telling her it is not available. Obviously this concerns her and is then calling me about driving the car with the engine light on.
Once I've cleared the code with my odb reader it all works fine.
Is this a common problem or do we need a new clutch switch and is it an easy install that I can do?
I don't even know where the switch is!
I'm fairly competent as I've been in the Motorcycle trade for 30 years.
Any thoughts?

One of my vehicles is a 2014 Vauxhall Combo/Fiat Doblo it had an issue of stalling at the first junction every morning, but at no other time.
Stop/Start had never worked and general consensus was towards a stop/start battery.
However on checking up under the dash I found the leg had broken off the clutch pedal switch which is spring loaded so defaults to a position as if clutch pedal was depressed, I see it uses the same switch on your 500x as in photo.
To fit it, head under dash with torch, disconnect wiring plug, then push out centre of plastic locking pin (there is a lever but mine was already broken) once centre out then plastic clip will release and switch can be removed, careful to engage lever at clutch pedal as fitting, once clip in hole the centre pushes in to lock in place.
If you look at the new one it is fairly obvious, you may need to delete codes again. Stop/Start still doesn't work but no error messages and no stalling at first junction.
Depending on your diagnostic tool it may show when clutch pedal released or depressed.
