Hi all

I've been given a check engine light and and got P0807 Clutch Position Sensor Circuit Low,

Is this just replacing the sensor or is there fuses that need checking as well?

Also would this effect the mpg and acceleration?

Thanks

Model
1.6 petrol
Year
2017
P0807 means the ECU is seeing a low signal from the clutch pedal position sensor. On the 1.6 petrol, the sensor controls torque, cruise, and sometimes fuel strategy, so it can affect acceleration and mpg.
Before replacing it, check both the connector and the cable from the pedal to the ECU. Look for loose pins, corrosion, or chafed/broken wires. Also check live data to see if the clutch position moves smoothly when pressing the pedal.
There usually isn’t a separate fuse for this sensor; it shares a 5V reference with other sensors, so if only P0807 is present, the sensor or wiring is the likely cause.

A quick tip for checking the cable without taking anything apart:
✅️ 1. Connect your diagnostic tool (e.g., MultiECUScan, AlfaOBD) and go to live data for the clutch pedal position sensor.
✅️ 2. Press and release the clutch slowly and watch the reading. It should move smoothly from 0% (released) to 100% (fully pressed) or whatever range the ECU shows.
✅️ 3. While watching live data, gently wiggle the cable along its length from the pedal to where it enters the bulkhead.
If the value jumps, drops, or goes to 0, that’s a clear sign of a wiring or connector problem.
✅️ 4. If the reading is stable, the cable and connector are fine, and the sensor itself may need replacing.

This method catches intermittent low-voltage signals that can trigger P0807, without taking apart the pedal bracket or ECU harness.

I had a 2014 Vauxhall Combo (Fiat Doblo in drag) that would stall at first junction from cold, error code said clutch pedal position sensor, fitted that and problem solved. Just needed a flat screwdriver and the ability to lay on my back under the pedals. This was the part, on mine the plastic lever part had broken off that follows the pedal up and down.
