Technical Clutch pedal removal , help needed

Hello guys to all of you !


I am having a very irritating squeaking noise from my clutch pedal , especially when i am releeasing slowly the presure from it .

I tried to lubricate it with many types of spray lubricants but it was almost pointless .
I spotted that the pedal stands on plastic-nylon-teflon-whatever this material is bushings , sure thing are not metallic. I tried then to remove them , but i found it very hard to find from which side and how can i dissasemble this axle point .


Does anyone from the forum had any similar expirience with a Punto mk2 ?

thats what i was thinking, take boot off slave cylinder and spray with wd40 or similar, did mine twice been ok for 3 months now. even bought secondhand one to fit but didnt need it

Mk2 is hydraulic clutch

The master cylinder is just held on via a clip to the clutch pedal

Watch out tho - the pedal may spring up really high once disconnected
Ie - dont get a pedal to the face

Well , yes , it's hydraulic clutch . I did spray it first time with wd40 , which made it worst than before . Maybe because of the cleaning properties that wd also haves . Then i sprayed with white lithium grease , which helped a little but nothing important . The squeeking noise is still there . The plastic bushings are worn badly , and need replacement for sure , but i can't find how to remove them . Any ideas would be great . I tried several tims with many different tools , but it was pointless . The central axle doesn't seems to move .

Thanks and for the precaution tip ! The proble is i can't remove the central axle of the pedal , where the plastic bushings are . I tried in many ways , and nothing...! it's kind of embarrasing for me , because i am an angineer in profession in forklifting trucks , and this little thing shoots my ''pride'' to death !!

trickle a little 3in 1 oil or similar down the side of the clutch arm bush in the gearbox that will stop the squeek

i guess you would need to take brake and clutch pedal box out as one?
then with a heatgun warm the white worn out plastic bits up and pull them out warm up new ones slide them in
seems simple enough with drivers seat out?

Thanks for your quote , but i don't want to lubricate again . I tried with many types of lubs , nothing helped . I want to change the bushings . It's oneway solution i guess in my case .

Why i have to warm up the plastic bushings ? Heat effects metal mostly , not plastic parts . You have experience on this type of pedals and removal ? Have you done it before , or it's a guess ?

the bushes go hard with age
im talking heat gun not blow torch by the way

no i havent done the pedal box out but usually find i will get something similar in now ive commented on it
