Sensible fellow:D

There are a couple of these quick connectors around the car.

Designed for quick assembly in the factory, but not really intended to be quickly disconnected again, especially after 20 years or so.

The radiator bottom hose is another one - I thought it would be easier to unclip the, ahem, quick release connector, and regretted it.
The quick release radiator fittings are a right pain, especially if any contamination in water has expanded the O rings.
I had to make up new O rings for every hose I disturbed after oil got in coolant from a oil cooler fault.:(
Yup. I prefer to just destroy the hose clamps, pull the hose of to drain and then refit using a jubilee type hose clamp.

A few more photos showing some of the repair items on my 'NEW' 21-year-old Panda...by the way where do you draw the line between repair and restoration? !! ... and today it has been very satisfying to watch my mechanic brother install 1. the new Clutch Slave Cylinder and then 2. remove and renew the Master Brake Cylinder (with a thorough clean-out) and then he rejuvenated it with a new repair kit. My participation involved watching, cleaning the underside of the bonnet !!, pumping the brakes and topping up the brake fluid while the expert bled each brake in turn.
