Sensible fellow
There are a couple of these quick connectors around the car.
Designed for quick assembly in the factory, but not really intended to be quickly disconnected again, especially after 20 years or so.
The radiator bottom hose is another one - I thought it would be easier to unclip the, ahem, quick release connector, and regretted it.
Yup. I prefer to just destroy the hose clamps, pull the hose of to drain and then refit using a jubilee type hose clamp.The quick release radiator fittings are a right pain, especially if any contamination in water has expanded the O rings.
I had to make up new O rings for every hose I disturbed after oil got in coolant from a oil cooler fault.![]()
