General Clutch Judder

Had problem of slight judder when pulling away in my JTD, but only first thing when car is cold. Could this be a big problem developing ? Doesn't seem to do this after initially setting off. Also can sometimes crunch when car put into reverse gear only. Is this related at all.

What kind of gearbox do you have?

It's the 1.9 5grs, with 15,500 mls on a 56 plate.

Oops. I had this at 37,000 miles which shortly developed into a new clutch. Exact same symptoms. However there is nothing to say this is definitely the case. Try a search of the forum if you haven't already, as I know there are many postings about clutches.
