Technical Clutch cable

Before I strip out seats and matting can anyone tell me if the clutch cable is encased in it own tube inside the car's central tunnel? Car is a 1962 500D.

The clutch cable runs through a fixed metal tube that is welded to the floor of the car inside the tunnel. To remove it you unhook it from the pedal, and then withdraw the cable from the rear of the car.

When you do fit the new clutch cable, make sure that the clutch end of the cable's outer is secured in the little locating bracket which is secured (by a 13mm nut) onto the side of the gearbox. If this is not done, very poor clutch operation will occur.
