The plastic mounted type is the one I am familiar with (exactly the same as Uno and couple others). Had this on my last 5 Pandas and all didn't have the bracket keeping it true.
They arrived with the cars, I never had to replace one. Hard to say if original equipment of course. The metal "stay" might have featured on more than one originally, but was not put back on when the cable was replaced perhaps?

Thanks for the photos, I dont think I have noticed the metal bracketed cables before when I have been looking on ebay. I think its easier to just get hold of one of those brackets like in Jons photo of his sisley cable. Sounds like its going to be a bit of lottery if I find a dumped panda that it has one though!!
