"clunking" noise from underneath the car

every time i go over a speed bump, i hear a "clunking" noise from underneath the front end of the car. i've had new shocks this time last year.some of my mates reckon that it could be a ball joint. any ideas???cheers

I know this may be a stupid question, but u have checked to see if anything is loose under there have'nt u.
It could be any number of things from a loose/snapped bracket(on yr exhaust perhaps). Or maybe worse.
Can u describe the clunking or point out the location of it, eg. front, bck of car?
 
Check to see if your cat, or even the neighbours cat, is missing LOL ;) ;)

as said, check things like your exhaust, but also arb drop links, wishbones etc... things like your are done up tight etc etc etc
