Technical Climate control playing up

Hi guys,

Got a weird one. Climate control regulats the speed of the fan depending on the ambient temperature (I'm assuming here), but is overriden by the manual +/- controls, but lately it seems to ignoring that and alternating between full speed and then dropping to a low speed and it keeps doing this in a cycle, almost like it can't decide on what it should be doing . It won't just settle on one fan speed like it used to.. Any likely issues here?

worth checking the DOME at bottom of windscreen isn't covered / damaged..
it's the sunshine sensor

Thought that myself, give it a clean and doesn't seem to have solved the issue

Having a similar issue where fan speed seems to be going up and down for the first few minutes after starting up in the cold whether. After warming up it works normally
