General Climate control fan problem

Climate control fan on my croma is on full all the time. Cannot slow it down using +/- buttons. Only way to stop it is to remove climate control fan fuse.

Sounds like the speed controller module has failed short circuit OR a wiring fault, e.g. damage/chafed wired
Looking at the parts list I can't see a separate speed control, just an overall panel control unit. This costs around £250 ...ouch

eLearn suggests that there is a separate "resistive divider" but on the Automatic Climate Control the motor speed is directly controlled from the "climate control node"

Ouch!! I would call that an infernal short.
