Hello there, my name is Kostas (Gus), I live in Greece, Athens and I am preparing an AWD Cinquecento project car for Greek "Formula Saloon" racing category (hillclimbs & circuit), ProjectR as I love to call it.

Chassis is of a Fiat Cinquecento '96 (really clean chassis)
Transimition is a 4x4 setup of a Panda Generation 2 (2003 - 2012)
Brakes 4pot of a Mito
Roll cage is a modified Sparco
Engine for a start will be an 1242 8v Turbo around 170bhp (Punto ELX)
and as a second step we will try to mount a Tjet
ECU is an EFI EURO 1
And the list will be long enough.....

Because I needed some info about engine mounting on panda gearbox, I originally started a new threat on Panda section but I think it should be merged with this threat or to continue the topic here...

Some updates of our project..

We welded and customized sparco roll cage and welded the chassis as well and painted (primer).

We have customised the mount points of the rear (panda) axle.

attachment.php

We mounted the axle at place and welded the mounts at place.

I think we will need some WIDENING here...

attachment.php

Custom made mount points for rear springs. Notice that the mounts (cones) are from a real axle of a normal 'cento.

Axle rear mounts and spring mounts welded at place...

Axle front mounts welded and polished..

We 'll keep welding... :p:slayer::devil:

This is sooooo cool. I want one!! or a garage/yard in which i could work on my car.

Panda has (almost) the same transmision as punto and centos.
My punto transmition on cinquecento turbo was ok for almost 4years on 170bhp.

After we will mount the engine back on cinque and test the car I will know if the transmision will last long! :p

If not we have 2 options:
1.) We will try to find a better solution for rear diff or it's internals.
2.) Leave the rear axle removing the rear diff, so the car will be fwd again.

We will see....

Hello to ALL!!

Since some other things occured, we left aside the project and now we are starting research again to complete it..

So, first of all, does anyone knows how this diff locks? I mean through the valve? When the valve is open? How? It is not viscus I think.

My Diff is like this type:

I think viscus was this type of diff. Am I right?
