thanks for the enquiry. The answer to your question is a yes
and no I'm afraid. We were commisioned to produce the guard itself which we
did and the owner of the Cinq then fabricated its mounting points. We would
be able to do the guard itself but we wouldnt be able to do the mounting
frame, the frame that was maufactured for the road rally car involved
welding a cross brace of angle iron across the front of the car under the
radiator and the strengthening up of two bumper mounts I think.
As for materials, Kevlar is the best material for the job in hand.
It has the best impact and abrasion qualities of the readily available
fibres. Carbon or glass fibre arent suitable for a sump guard and anyone who
tells you otherwise is mistaken. I think the guard itself was £95 if memory
serves as it utilised Epoxy resins and a heat cure which added to the costs.
