The reason for the post is thus, I have just purchased an 02 punto 1.2 16v Sporting and I was wondering if anyone can suggest what is a good speaker combo?
I am an semi-experienced ICE'r and I just need a few tips on what worked well in everyone else's car because as I am sure u know, every car is different and this one is definately different from my last (an uno )
I already have a brand new rockford 10" P210S4 sub with a nice alpine amp to run it, so bass isn't a problem. I also have a very nice pioneer headunit with 50 w RMS per channel, therefore I don't feel the need to get another amp. What I need is an excellent set of tweaters for their money (around £50), a gorgeous seat of mid ranges for the front doors (around £100, I don't mind if I have to get door pods I can budget another £50 for the door pods), and finally some not so good mid ranges for the back (around £70). I then hope to connect these straight up to the headunit with no amp but of course crossovers between the front midranges and the dash mounted tweaters (as the headunit only have four channels), therefore if anyone can recommend good crossovers I would appreciate it (crossovers don't have to be pretty, they aren't on show, just need good quality ones)
I have noticed that the speakers in the back r dreadful 10cm :O, so I was wondering if it would be possible to get speakers that are any good to fit in those alcoves or would I need to get a stealth shelf to give me the needed room for a bigger set of speakers. And before anyone suggests 6x9's in the back parcel shelf I don't want 6x9's because they are too bassey and I already have a nice sub.
I appreciate that I am going to have to have the car soundproofed so if anyone can suggest excellent (and I mean excellent) but fairly cheap sound proofing, it would be much appreciated.
As I am sure you have noticed, this build is on a budget because the car cost me more than I thought but as music is important to me I am willing to go over budget yet again lol
So guys please give me your suggestions and as I do stuff to the ICE I will keep u all posted!
