Yes it was fun️
Yeee!
Congratulations! Great job you did! And it was fun!
Its on the to do listAnd did you flush the fluid from the master and slave or not yet?
Duty-to-do list. Its on the to do list![]()
Yes, that is how you do it, take just it out. I totally recommend you to do it. That is easy. Only tricky thing is getting the spring pin out, but totally doable too. That's what I had a little fight with, but correct approach can make it very easy job. I made myself a short 'pin' out of an screw, polished it round to fit in and stuck it in on one side and worked perfectly. Unfortunately I didn't take pictures of that, next time if I'll do it again.I went for another trip, theres no leak from the driveshafts, they're clear. The gearshifter seal is the only leak, if that bothers me i can take out the unit without removing the whole gearbox
I've been advised to do this job before, because my EVO has exactly the same problem. I've seen a guide and video which look good, but it looks fairly difficult in comparison to topping up the gearbox occasionally, hence my reticence to get on with it...Yes, that is how you do it, take just it out. So... do it! That is fun, too. Especially the end result when there's no leak.
To quote Mrs. Doyle... Go on, go on, go on, go on, go on, go on, go on, go on...I've been advised to do this job before, because my EVO has exactly the same problem. This made me start watching again Father Ted. Such fun!!!
It also made me (plus this tread) thinking about replacing gearbox oil, checking the level...
Last time I did that was when I put a new clutch on, 2019 and about 35 k km ago. Wouldn't be bad to do it now, while everything is working just fine I think...
Nothing obvious.I presume you have no leaks?
What...?!Might be woth doing your own MOT and seeing what is on the way out
Find a "list of items" to check and go through them one by one. Meaure brake pads, measure brake discs, measure tyre depth, that kind of thing. If you were to do that methodically you'd likely find an item that was near to failing.What...?!![]()
