I've done the return on ebay, i get the refund the moment i drop it off at the post office, so thats something good.
And in the mean time i get to try and use my clutch alignment tool on it.
Those alignment tools aren't the simplest....

Fabulous instructions and i quote from part B;
"Rotate the knob (3) until it touches the knob (2), keep adjusting the screw still, release the knob (1) and support it on the knob (2)."

Anyway, i figured out how to use the alignment tool.
I discovered that the pressure plate and the friction plate don't align properly. The friction plate is perfectly symmetrical but the pressure plate is not.
I imagine whoever put this clutch on was very annoyed when it didn't work properly.

I like the way i was given "Disassembly" instructions, and i like the way it says "Installation: Perform the operation as described above in reverse".
So for installation i need to reverse the disassembly...

The gearbox oil came. I packed up the faulty clutch to go back.
I've not started the job. It'll be next Wednesday or thereabouts before i get a new clutch so i'll decide when exactly i'm going to do the job then.
My mind is already wandering to other problems...
The lightbulb warning light on this car keeps coming on randomly, despite the bulbs being OK. I'll have to change the connectors themselves, they are all rusty and crappy.
A DRL bulb is out on my 500X.
Mmmmm.
I can see why new cars use LED bulbs.

Bolt hole marks are from production.
Friction surface totally free of marks.
