What are peoples views on this before I send this picture via email to the Cheshire Police..

basically this car was parked blocking our entrance to where we park our cars (myself and carly plus a couple of neighbours) and is the only entrance/exit. its not the first time where the police have blocked the exit or taken up many spaces parking horrizontal across spaces. I have almost been late x amount of times waiting for the police to move there cars.

from the picture it looks like you could drive around, but what the picture doesn't show is a raised storm grid which is approx 1foot higher than pavement therefore no space to get past.

Near where I live there is a slightly complicated traffic light junction. It is basically just a cross roads, but with a dog-leg in the middle of it. Sometimes people go straight ahead when the lft filter only is on green. The result of this is that if you are coming the other way and the lights are in your favour you might encounter a car coming through against you when they shouldn't be there at all.
This happens now and again, only today I encountered a police car doing it. He wasn't on blue lights, and he was going through carefully, which led me to believe that he knew what he was doing but just thought he was above the law.
I would love to have heard what he would have said if the boot had been on the other foot and it had been my son in his legally modified car coming through when he shouldn't have!
It would have been all:
"Do you realise I have to tell your parents when you crash this thing?"
"Do you know what a section 59 is son"
"I can turn this car into a bean can if I like"
etc.

Sorry- got carried away.
Report it. Unless there was an emergency it is just thoughtless-ness typical of the breed.

haha no worries. there was an incident a few weeks ago which for some reason ment about 7 panda cars had to be there. all parked up wasting space! (n):bang:

no incident today though so theres no need for it!

Find the email address from the police website and send pic. Tell them date, time and location and ask them to explain why the car was there. Tell them how inconvenient it was, and that it has occurred before, but don't get angry, just ask for their views. If you use an angry tone, you'll get the wrong response.

It is likely that they were following up on the previous incident and while concentrating on the location, failed to notice that they were blocking anything.

I sent the pics below to Thames Valley and got phone call from a very nice Inspector explaining how two policemen were running around after a stray dog, which they failed to catch. He agreed they should have left it, as not a good use of resources, or at least taken a moment to park properly. Both had been "spoken to". Worked for me.

this is what i sent haha.

'Today I approached my car that I park on the offroad parking off x (bottom of x Road) to find being blocked in by one of your police cars. left unatended with no sign of being moved any time soon. (could not see any staff, anywhere.)
I knocked on the house the car was outside to politly ask if the officer could move the vehicle and i did not get an apologly when i told him they parked blocking the exit (id ref xxxx)

The reason for this email is I would like to make you aware that this is not the first time your officers has been left the cars inconsideratly blocking the entrance and exit to the off road parking. Another time the police cars have been parked across two potential spaces that are used by local resisdents, parking is very restricted and minimal around this area so myself and other residents do not apriciate your cars being left in such a manner.
if you would please let your officers know to respect the local residents when parking

I'm just asking for a little more care towards residents when parking in this area.

Thank you'

I included my phone number, time & date for if they want to contact me

Let us know if you get a response!
It is just symptomatic of many people who either don't know or don't care about parking in a sensible manner. But you would hope that the police have been trained better than that wouldn't you?
Yes alright, I know I'm dreamimg.

Unfortunately this 'attitude' is symptomatic of the way people live and work these days, everyone is under pressure to complete as soon as possible so they can get onto the next job. This manifests itself in this instance by the officer 'dumping' his car as close to his 'target' as possible to minimise down time. Unfortunately this sort of attitude that 'my life is more important than anyone elses' is becoming more and more common, just look at the worsening driving skills, like road positioning at junctions for instance.

Buy a wheel clamp & usual 'no parking...car will be clamped yada yada yada' sign. Next time they park there, clamp the car & put big sign somewhere nearby. stand back & watch (video) the fun.:D
And then be prepared to be harrassed, breathalysed, stopped and searched every time you go out in your car in that force area for ever.

Slightly off topic.

My Partner used to work at a mental hospital. Staff canteen was around the back of the building and offered better breakfasts than the local police canteen, so the police would often pop round for breakfast.
One morning, two police officers were having breakfast, when the cook pointed out their notice on the wall, "Lock it or lose it". Sitting in the police car was one happy hospital resident, wriggling the steering wheel and making brumm noises, having locked himself in.

Took them over an hour to get him out. Eventually coaxed out by the promise of a cooked breakfast.

If I can also suggest sending it to this website.

(Warning - dont open the link if you dont like the C word being used!).

I'm snapping anything parked even a little bit out of line for them lol.

yes fun but could you be arrested for obstructing a police officer in line of duty or whatever... lol

If the police see such a post, any goodwill may disappear. From the pic, it is not obvious that it is an obstruction. It could be just the drive to the house being visited.
