Technical check engine

i had my engine check/management light come on this morning as i was going to work (straight after it started having driven less than 100yds)

any ideas will be appreciated, here may be a few pointers....

35700mile (technically due a service at 36k however was serviced when i bought it & the service indicator is showing due in 10k)

updated ecodrive this morning, immediately before starting?

4 mile drive to work, temp isnt getting to norm at this time of year (centre) could it be a fault with the DPF not functioning properly

seems to start ok, idles same as usual, not sluggish (not in limp mode?) mpg is as usual, oil level is ok, cant think of anything else

no other lights just the buzzer, then the scrolling display along with the management light....

It will be visiting a non franchised garage at the weekend, but any ideas prior to that would be appreciated

I would say in the current climate to check condition of the battery.
They are pretty poor and could throw up any warning.

having said that i have had mine over 4.5 years now and recharged it once last year. might be time again.
