Hi, I am having an issue with my 2016 Fiat 500 Lounge. It started over a month ago when I was parked up with the engine idling and check engine light came on along with tyre pressure, start stop, hill holder, ESP unavailable and yellow triangle. It has been doing this on and off when I’m parked up idling (especially after restarting the car with the clutch after start stop turned off the engine). It also is sometimes accompanied by a rough idle and going into limp mode. With a basic code reader the codes P0101 and P01016 come up. We have changed the MAP sensor, took to garage and they repaired a split in the breather pipe, changed the battery, changed the air filter and still the problem reoccurs. I have read some things on forums suggesting it could be the EVAP valve? Could anyone help as it just seems impossible to solve even taking it to the garage didn’t fix it. Sometimes error codes go off after leaving car to sit for a few days. It also drives like normal without error codes and when not in limp mode

Yes evap solenoid valve a distinct probability.
To test before buying new evap solenoid valve you can disconnect the blue evap pipe between the solenoid valve and inlet manifold plug the open end going to inlet manifold. Leave solenoid tube open so air can get into fuel tank as fuel is drawn out.
If fault codes stay away then solenoid valve highly likely at fault.

Good luck.

Please let us know how you get on.

Hi took it to a Fiat Specialist today and they said they thought it was the break switch so that has been changed. Had no problems so far so seems like that has fixed it!

Brake switch ? I can't see a possible connection with p0101 or p0106
But fingers xed

But p0106,p0101 were related to the split breather hose and probably the map sensor was not faulty. If the spare part is not genuine Bosch, it may cause limp mode in the future.

So it did it again yesterday! All the same dashboard lights came on and gone into limp mode so wasn’t brake switch :( going to see if we can disconnect the evap valve

Thanks for update.

Disconnect tube between evap valve and inlet manifold.
Plug the open end of tube going to inlet manifold.
Leave evap valve port open.

Update: changed the Evap solenoid and it seems to have fixed the issue completely as lights haven’t come on and no problems in quite a few days

I was wondering how you were getting on.

Thanks for listening to suggestion.

Especially Thanks for letting us know outcome.

😁😁😁

Best wishes

You cannot ever 100% trust what the code says as the entire car is interlinked. I no longer even raise an eyebrow when the code says one thing nad the fault is actually entirely different. I would love to know whats going on. Perhaps all Fiat are female and this is why men cannot evr understand exactly whats going on..... I say Noop is male and hope that we can understand each other better on that basis!

Our old Leon needed a brake switch when the the EML came on. Thats switch had to be set on fitting which made it more fun. Just as well I bought two as I wrecked the first one.
