I have a 500 1973L right hand drive. On the nearside behind the petrol tank is a riveted chassis plate and below is a number stamped into the body. Should they be the same? They both begin with 110F followed by a 7 figure number which starts with 308 but the remaining numbers are different. The V5 agrees with the chassis plate number.

It's quite hard to read in the attached image, but my RHD, 1969 F has the matching number and stamped plate.
The rubber rivets that you see are the original type. No doubt, it's not unusual for a chassis plate to be removed and then replaced after painting, but aluminium rivets mean that it's been taken off.

I had a discrepancy in the paperwork when reclaiming the original registration number, and VOSA had to physically verify this on my car.
