Hi,

i've looked at the guides and the faq, but what is the best way to change the radiator?

i'm assuming remove bumper > drain > remove hoses > remove fan > reattach hoses > fill > bleed air > job done

what I need to know are the details or stuff I have to watch out for...

I did mine a couple of months ago. You don't need to remove the bumper. Its easier with the bumper off, but then you have the hassle of removing the bumper.

Only thing to think about is when you lower the rad, tie a string onto the top bleed hose, it passes up through the wing and its easier to pass back up again with the string.

Ramps or stands, drain any residue into bucket, dont dump into storm, soil drain or water course...

If the rad is scrap and not recycle able you need less care at removing hoses, if hoses are on last legs get new ones, replace the OEM clips with screw hose clamps. Flush out engine with garden hose. Some of the bits are plastic, take care...

Use deionised water if you kettle scales up.

thanks guys!

rad is probably empty already, as it was leaking after a tow.
flush with the hose?
would that be trough the expansion tank our through one of the hoses?

Not done a cinq rad, but you should be able to stick a garden hose into the rad hose where it more normally mates with the rad top pipe, getting any crud out of the bottom of the engine is good.

I'd not disturb any bits as lots are plastic, and unless you are replacing leave untouched...
