Hi guys, Panda Mk2 2004 Dynamic 4x door central locking works just of the driver's door key, not remote. It has stopped working.
As none of the locks are working, I'm thinking it's not the individual locks. I have dismantled both front door locks. When I activate the micro switches on the driver's door lock, I can hear a 'click' underneath the dashboard by the steering column. Is there a main controller/relay? If so, where is it, what does it look like? Any other suggestions on what the problem might be?
Thanks

Hi :)

(Ive asked a Moderator to move this to the 2003 on section )

I had a 2004..until 2018..

So have some experience

Obviously just got a Drivers door lock

Is your tailgate lock ok..??

I would try locking the drivers door 'manually'.. ( door ajar ..trigger the mechanism with a rod)

Then use the key for on and off with THE CENTRAL LOCKING

Do the same with the passengers..then tailgate

let us know what you find (y)

Thanks for your response, I've tried your suggestions. I can only lock & unlock the driver's door with the key. When I do that, it turns the interior light off & on & I can hear a click from under the dashboard, but I can only lock/unlock the other doors manually. The boot only opens using the key.

Been a while..

Does pushing the interior door handle trigger all locks?

Try left..then right :)
No...tried left right, right left, back front, front back. When I lock/unlock front door from inside it immediately turns interior light on/off along with the click from under the dashboard...the other door locks have no effect

F38 protects the power to all doors

It’s not in any of the fuse boxes it’s directly on the side of the body computer

Pretty hard to pull out but easy to check either a multi meter do you have one

Thanks for your response.

I've found the fuse & it is ok!

Someone has told me that if one of the locks fails electrically (e.g. a rear door), that breaks the loop which is why none of the other locks work...anybody heard that?

Not correct

The power to each motor is separate

If one of the door isn’t shut or the micro switch isn’t registering it will shut and reopen

Are you sure your looking at the correct fuse 20A

Is there 12v on both the input and output side

When you unlock the car with the key the courtesy light does work the signal door to the body computer

Should be battery voltage on both solder blobs here and chassis ground

I'm confident I am looking at the correct fuse in position F38 because when I pulled the fuse, the driver's door didn't lock & I couldn't hear the 'click'. I put the fuse back in, door locks & can here 'click' again. It is 10A not 20A

I'll get a multimeter & check voltage...will be next weekend now!

I'm going to have to look again to check, I must be looking at the wrong one.
Thank you
No problem

RHD cars

Open the drivers door

Head on the carpet look above the accelerator pedal with a torch

You can normally see the bottom couple of fuses quite easy but have to shuffle yourself to see the upper one

Luckily these fuses have a couple test points on the top to put a test lead on

Once we know there’s voltage to and from here we can move onto the rest of the circuit. I had a quick look on the diagram and this stood out as a common point between all doors

Some of the wiring is shared but most isn’t. I didn’t see anything else that tied all the locks together

To answer your question from post 1 the relay is soldered directly onto the body computer board and isn’t a user replaceable part.

Hi, I have checked again & it turns out I was looking at the wrong fuse!! looking at the position of all the wiring blocks, the actual fuse (F38) I need on the module is at the bottom, closest to the floor. That one had blown. have replaced it & all locks now work. As it happens the fuse was the wrong size (25A). I have now replaced it with a 20A.
Thank you very much for your help...much appreciated:)

Cool well done 👍

i suspect one of the locks is jamming a bit causing it to blow. Sounds like a garage has been here already

With a bit of luck you might be able to hear one lock that a bit slower than the rest. Save having to clean and grease them all.
